IND vs NZ: It has been over a week since India’s heartbreaking semi-final exit from the recently-concluded T20 World Cup, but the wounds are still fresh in fans’ minds. The Indian team started off its campaign in the marquee ICC competition clinically but ultimately was handed over a defeat by Jos Buttler-led England in the semi-final, as the nine-year-long anticipation for an ICC title continued at the Adelaide Oval.
With senior team members making themselves unavailable, The BCCI has now directed a second-string lineup for the upcoming New Zealand tour. The much-anticipated tour consists of a three-match T20I series followed by a one-day international series with an equal number of matches. The Indian team will be desperate to produce some results following the disappointing run in the T20 World Cup 2022.

‘Rohit Sharma can smash it’ is Nasser Hussain’s fitting reply to Micahel Atherton
Meanwhile, Former England captain Nasser Hussain has backed out-of-form Indian skipper Rohit Sharma. Hussain confessed that the opening batter has the explosive game which is required for success in modern-day T20 Cricket, going on to mention his unbroken record of three double centuries. Hussain’s statement came after Micahel Atherton’s cryptic question regarding Indian top-order batsmen’s fear of losing their place in the side.
Rohit Sharma is considered to be one of the top batters in this Indian lineup, however, his performance in the T20 World Cup 2022 remained under massive scrutiny. The opening batter managed to contribute with just 116 runs in a total of six encounters. He had an average of 19.33 and a strike rate of 106.42. The right-hander further crossed the fifty-run mark on just one occasion.

“Do you think it’s harder in India for two reasons, one is the number of cricketers they have so obviously the competition is greater. If you lose your place then somebody can quickly take it. Also, the differential between the match fees paid by plays a big role.” asked Michael Atherton to Nasser Hussain
“I think you are complicating things. You’re not talking about someone who is on the edge of the seat for a place in the side. You’re talking about Rohit Sharma, who has got three double-hundreds in ODI cricket, so the guy can smash it.” replied Hussain in the exact interview on Sky Sports
