Maybe you can give Rishabh Pant a break: Kris Srikkanth
Meanwhile, former Indian batter Kris Srikkanth has opened up on Rishabh Pant’s poor run in international Cricket. Srikkanth has come up with a suggestion of resting Pant in the next few matches. He further questioned team management for not handling Pant well and confessed that the Southpaw needs to score runs ahead of the upcoming World Cup 2023.
Rishabh Pant is going through a lean patch in the last few months. He did not feature in the national side in multiple matches of the recently-concluded T20 World Cup as well as in the Asia Cup. He was promoted as an opener by the Indian team in the T20I series of the ongoing New Zealand tour, however, he failed to contribute yet again.
“Maybe you can give him a break and tell him ‘just wait a bit, come and play in India’, They haven’t handled him well. Are you going to wait before giving him a break or remove him after one or two games? Yes, Rishabh Pant is not utilizing the chances he’s getting. I am very disappointed.” said Kris Srikkanth on YouTube.
“You are messing up these chances. The World Cup is coming up. Already a lot of people are saying that Pant isn’t scoring so it’ll add fuel to the fire. He needs to reinvent himself. He has to do something right – stand and play for a while and then go for it…He’s throwing his wicket away all the time,” Srikkanth further added
