The Hundred, One of the most prominent leagues around the world will officially kickoff tomorrow (August 3) with a highly-anticipated encounter between two top franchises namely the James Vince-led Southern Brave and Jonny Bairstow-led Welsh Fire. The game will start at 11 PM IST and will take place at the iconic Rose Bowl of Southampton.
The Hundred, which has now become a top English league was introduced last year (2021) and received a great response from the cricketing world. The league will undergo its second edition now, featuring some of the top players from over the world.
Unlike the other cricketing league in the world, The Hundred is played in a 100-ball format with some additional and different rules which makes it a unique creature. The league features a total of 8 local teams led by top English players with modern names.
The popular English league is played in a round-robin format, where the eight teams face each once in the league stage followed by the playoffs. The playoffs consist of two encounters namely the eliminator and the final. The team finishing first in the league stage directly qualifies in the final, while the second and third teams lock horns in the eliminator for the ticket to the finale.

The league received a positive response from India after the conclusion of the first edition. However, What comes as a piece of worrying news for the cricket fans in India is that the Hundred will not be telecasted on any of the channels in the country.
