WATCH: Rohit Sharma Jokingly Tries To Slap Ishan Kishan During The Drinks

The fourth Test match of the ongoing India-Australia series is currently occurring at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The much-anticipated encounter of the four-match Test series is a series-deciding affair. India is leading the series with a margin of 2-1 and needs to win or draw the series in order to achieve a series victory. Australia, on the other hand, has to produce a positive result in order to level the series. 

As things stand, after the play of the first two days, Australia has a clear upper hand in the game. The Steve Smith-led side posted a gigantic total of 480 before bundling out in batting-friendly conditions at Ahmedabad. Renowned opening batter Usman Khawaja remained the pick of the batters for visitors with a marathon inning worth 180 runs. Khawaja faced a total of 422 balls during his long stay at the crease. In response, India is nearing the 50-run mark without a loss of a wicket.

Netizens unhappy with Rohit Sharma’s rude behavior towards Ishan Kishan

Meanwhile, a visual of Rohit Sharma jokingly trying to hit Ishan Kishan during the drinks break is doing rounds on social media. In the video, Sharma tried to comically slap Kishan after he dropped the water bottle. The episode occurred when Kishan brought drinks for the Indian team and was returning back after the brief break. Even though it was a funny and intentional act by the Mumbaikar, the fans were unimpressed by the gesture.

Ishan Kishan was part of India’s full-fledged squad for the ongoing Australia series, however, did not get an opportunity. Kishan had a dream run in India’s recently-concluded limited-overs leg. He scored a record-breaking double-century in an ODI fixture in Bangladesh. Moreover, KS Bharat, who is currently India’s wicketkeeper, was given the first preference due to his extensive keeping skills. Kishan would now eye an opportunity in the upcoming ODI series against Australia.
