Roach to Rahul, out Rahul Run Out!! 1 run completed. The partnership is broken. Rahul says something to Suryakumar but it was his fault. Fuller than a good length and Rahul drives on the rising square of the wicket, he called for two and started going, Suryakumar responded as well but for some reason, Rahul stopped halfway down and then started to go again, that pause was enough to catch him short of the crease. Hosein tidies up and sends a throw right next to the stumps, Hope does the rest. Suryakumar never stopped nor said no and he kept on going for the second.
India posted 237 runs while batting first.
West Indies stand-in captain Nicholas Pooran won the toss and elected to field first. For Team India KL Rahul was back in place of Ishan Kishan. For India, a new opening combination was seen where for the first time Rishabh Pant opened in International Cricket. Team India lost Captain Rohit Sharma early in the innings. And in the 12th over by Smith, India lost Pant and Virat, and India was pushed back for 43/3.
Surya Kumar and Rahul had a 91 runs fourth-wicket partnership which helped India recover a bit. The 20s by Hooda and Sundar helped India reach 237 runs.
