The full-strength Indian team achieved a comprehensive victory over the Jos Buttler-led hosts England in the second T20I at Edgbaston. The run-chase was a cake-walk for the Rohit Sharma-led unit after setting up a total of 170 on the board while batting first.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar was named the Player of the Match for his brilliant performance with the ball throughout the game. He managed to scalp 3 wickets in the game while giving away just 15 runs in his three overs quota. He continued his dream run in international cricket.
The victory at Edgbaston marked a series win for India. It helped the Indian team get the lead of 2-0 in the three-match series. The remaining game of the series, which is now a dead rubber, will be played tomorrow (July 10) itself. The Men in Blue will try to give some young players a go in the virtual dead rubber.
“When you win games there is confidence in the group and it is important how the boys feel. I really wanted to see how we perform after a win and challenge ourselves as a group. We look forward to another game tomorrow. We wanted to give guys sitting on the bench a chance, I will go back and speak to the coach about that.” said captain Rohit Sharma to conclude things
