The latest edition of the famous domestic T20 league of Tamil Nadu, namely the Tamil Nadu Premier League began on 23 of the last month (June 23). The tournament opener between Nellai Royal Kings and Chepauk Super Gillies marked the start of the 6th season of the league.
Prominent India cements owned league is featuring some of the big names of Indian cricket. The list includes the likes of Dinesh Karthik, Ravichandran Ashwin, Murali Vijay, Shahrukh Khan, and co. Some well-known local players in Baba Aparajith, Sai Kishore, and many more are also part of the league.
The league stage of the tournament concluded a couple of days back with only the last four knockout games remaining to be played. The highly-anticipated grand finale of TNPL will take place on 31 July (Sunday) at the iconic stadium of Coimbatore.
Murali Vijay gets trolled:
Meanwhile, A video of Indian cricketer Murali Vijay getting trolled by the crowd is doing rounds on social media. The incident happened during one of the matches of TNPL where the marquee Indian opener was seen facing some heat by the crowd while fielding at the boundary line.
In the video, The crowd teased Murali Vijay with consistent chants of ‘DK-DK’ while referring to Dinesh Karthik. He retaliated by making a gesture of folding his hands with a big question mark on his face. The incident indeed made Vijay uncomfortable.
Murali Vijay and Dinesh Karthik share an ugly past. According to reports, The wife of the wicket-keeper allegedly cheated on him by having an affair with the Indian opener, which led to the couple parting ways. The ex-wife of Dinesh Karthik later got married to Murali Vijay.
Vijay is making a comeback on the big stage. He is featured in a competitive game after more than two years. He is representing Ruby Trichy Warriors in the tournament.
“I want to play as long as possible. Just took a personal break. I have a young family and wanted to take care of them. I’m enjoying my cricket now and I’m feeling fit, hopefully, I can do my bit for my team and TNPL.” said the Indian opener
