Cheteshwar Pujara has been India’s formidable batsman in test cricket. The right-hand batter has been India’s stand-out batter for a good decade now. He is closing into the 100 tests milestone, having featured in 96 games for the national side. He has managed to score 6792 runs so far in his Test career.
The 34-year-old was recently dropped from the Indian team in the recently concluded home test series against Sri Lanka. The five-member BCCI selection committee confessed that the management is looking at the future of the team after Pujara suffered a lean patch for a couple of years.
However, The Gujarat-born player participated in the 2021-22 edition of the County Cricket, Which is a prominent domestic red-ball tournament in England. He smashed tons of runs in his county stint with team Sussex, managing to get multiple centuries under his belt. He scored a double century as well during the same period.
Pujara received the India comeback call after his success in the County Championship. He was part of the Indian team in the recently concluded one-off test against England at Edgbaston. He opened along with Shubman Gill in the absence of Rohit Sharma. The right-hander managed to score a crucial half-century in the second innings of the game.

Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara caught the limelight during one of the ongoing county games between Sussex and Leicestershire, but this time for his bowling. The part-timer came up with some leg-spinners during the 2nd innings of the match which amused the viewers.
He gave away 8 runs without managing to create any chance in that over. The batter looked quite comfortable facing the part-time leg-spinner. The county itself went on to share the amusing video of the over through its official Twitter handle.
Pujara has never seen bowling in the international area for the Indian team. He is one of those Indian players who never bowls. However, He has managed to scalp six wickets in first-class cricket playing from Vidarbha.
