Rohit Sharma-led Indian team made headlines following a dominating triumph over Australia in the second fixture of the ongoing Test series. It was a clinical performance from hosts India in the Delhi test which ultimately resulted in a six-wicket victory on the third day of the game. Renowned all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was named the player of the match for the second consecutive time in the all-important series.
“Fantastic result for us. Looking at how things were yesterday, the way we came back and finished our job was great. Even if we were just one run behind, I felt we were trailing because we had to bat last. I think the bowlers were fantastic, to take 9 wickets today morning is commendable. And then we finished the job with the bat.” said India captain Rohit Sharma after the Delhi win
The India-Australia Test series, popularly known as the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) now stands on the scoreline of 2-0 with two more matches to go. India further retained the BGT for the fourth consecutive time which is the most in the history of the series. The caravan will now move to Indore for the penultimate encounter of the series, scheduled to occur on March 1 at the Holkar Stadium.

Earlier today (Sunday), on the third day of the fixture, Ravi Ashwin produced a comical episode with Steve Smith being at the non-striker’s end. As it happened, Ashwin did not deliver the ball even after competing for action, bowling to Marnus Labuschagne. Smith was surprised and quickly returned to his crease with a smile on his face. Virat Kohli, who was fielding in the slips, was spotted laughing loudly with a banter vibe.
