International Career of Wahab Riaz
Boasting a 15-year-long International cricket career, Wahab Riaz made his debut for Pakistan back in 2008. Riaz has marked his presence in as many as 27 Tests, 91 ODIs, and 36 T20Is for the national side. The 38-year-old has a whopping 237 wickets to his in International cricket across all three formats. Moreover, he has an impressive record while playing for Peshawar Zalmi in Pakistan Super League.
“I have been speaking about my retirement plans past two years, that 2023 is my target to retire from International cricket, and I feel comfortable now more than ever that I have served my country to the best I could have,” said Wahab Riaz to press
“It has been an honor to represent Pakistan on the international stage. As I bid farewell to this chapter, I am thrilled to embark on a new adventure in franchise cricket, where I hope to entertain and inspire audiences.” Riaz further added
Fans had mixed reactions to Wahab Riaz’s immediate retirement. Most took the chance to remember his famous spell against Shane Watson in World Cup 2015, while others reacted in a hostile way owing to his ugly introduction to local politics. It was truly a rollercoaster-type International career for Wahab Riaz, who will now be seen participating in franchise cricket exclusively.
