The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team registered a comprehensive win in the recently concluded T20 series against England. India played some dominant cricket throughout the series to win the series with the margin of 2-1 and eventually got their hands on the trophy.
Meanwhile, The former Indian captain Virat Kohli continues his poor run with the bat. He was unavailable for the first game. The right-hander failed to contribute in the remaining two games. He got out on duck in the second game, while getting dismissed on the score of 11 in the dead rubber.
Kohli has failed to make any significant contributions for almost two years now. There are several questions being raised over his place in India’s T20 team. Kapil Dev, The former Indian captain has recently slammed the right-hander for his poor form.
“If Ravi Ashwin can be dropped from Tests, Why can’t Virat Kohli be dropped from T20s,” said Kapil Dev a few days back.

The current Indian captain Rohit Sharma has come out in the defense of Virat Kohli after he was asked multiple questions regarding the same in the recent press interaction. The Mumbaikar went on to respond to Kapil Dev’s comments on the middle-order batter.
Sharma believes that the people watching the game from the outside don’t have much idea about how things are going inside. He has backed Virat Kohli’s quality and praised him for his consistency throughout the years. The skipper has made it clear that Kohli will be given a long rope leading into the marquee ICC event.
