One of the players from their squad is Glenn Phillips who is a wicket-keeper batter from New Zealand who is known for his ability to hit the ball in the stands very often.
He was also part of Rajasthan Royals in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League in which he was unable to deliver for his team. As a result, the team didn’t play him in all the matches and didn’t back him properly.
Some of the former New Zealand players compare his ability to hit the long ball with Kiwi legend Brandon McCullum who is also the coach of Kolkata Knight Riders for years.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad will start their IPL 2022 campaign against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on 29th March, Tuesday. However, the team’s star player Glenn Phillips is yet to join the squad in India.
Glenn Phillips Has Not joined SRH Squad Yet
In a recent Instagram story, Glenn Phillips revealed that he has tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of IPL 2022. So he is in New Zealand right now and will only join the squad once he recovers.
He clarified saying, “For those who keep asking, I am stuck in New Zealand due to a positive PCR travel test. I will be joining SRH as soon as I can.”
