As Lasith Malinga had already ended his ODI and Test career. And by announcing his decision to step away from the shortest format of cricket on Tuesday also, the 38-year-old marked his retirement from all cricket formats.
Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga today announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. Ending a furnished 16-year international career that begin in 2004.

Lasith Malinga had concluded his Test (2011) and ODI (2019) career. Malinga is famous for his toe-crushing Yorkers. He played 30 Tests, 226 ODIs, and 84 T20Is for Sri Lanka. In which he picked 546 wickets (101 in Tests, 338 in ODIs, and 107 in T20Is) across formats.
He is still the most successful bowler in T20I cricket. He is also the highest wicket-taker in IPL (played as a Skipper). Today by confirming his announcement from the shortest format of cricket through his official YouTube channel. Malinga expressed appreciation to Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and the former cricketer also thanked his franchise teams including the Mumbai Indians, Melbourne Stars, Kent Cricket Club, Rangpur Riders, Guyana Warriors, Maratha Arabians, and Montreal Tigers.

“Today is a very special day for me because I want to thank each and everyone who has supported me and blessed me through the past 17 years. I will be continuously supporting the younger generations who flourish to uplift the spirit of the game and I will always be there who love the game also,” Lasith Malinga commits to paper.
