Following an embarrassing defeat in the World Test Championship 2023 final, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team is currently under massive scrutiny. India lost the high-profile WTC final against Australia earlier this month at The Oval, by a whopping 209 runs. It was a substandard performance from team India in both departments in the all-important fixture, ultimately resulting in another ICC title dream getting shattered.
The Indian team has received a 30-odd day break after the heartbreaking defeat in the WTC final. The star-studded Indian side will now directly be back in action in the second week of July, with the start of the Caribbean tour. India will take on West Indies in a two-match Test series and five-match T20I series, scheduled to get underway on July 12. It will be interesting to see how things pan out in the team selection, especially for the red ball series.

IPL Jeetna Utna Asaan Nahi Hai, Virat: Sourav Ganguly
Meanwhile, Sourav Ganguly allegedly took a dig at Virat Kohli regarding his incapability to win an IPL title during an interview. Ganguly mispronounced the interviewer ‘Vikrant’ Gupta’s name as ‘Virat’ after describing that clinching an Indian Premier League title is no small feat. While numerous netizens believe that Ganguly intentionally went on to mispronounce the journalist’s name, some claim that it was just a slip of the tongue.
“I have full faith in Rohit (Sharma). He and MS Dhoni have won 5 IPL titles. No one else has done that. Winning the IPL isn’t easy Virat, sorry, Vikrant. It’s a very tough tournament.” said Sourav Ganguly on Aaj Tak
