SMAT 2022: Ambati Rayudu & Sheldon Jackson Involved In A Heated Exchange (WATCH)

The latest season of the prominent Indian domestic tournament, namely Syed Mushtaq Ali commenced earlier this week (October 11), with the Final scheduled to occur on November 5. The marquee teams of various cricket-playing states/cities in the country are divided into as many as five groups (named A, B, C, D, and E).

As things stand, SMAT 2022 will be played in the traditional format across different renowned venues in India. The Group stage of the tournament is proceeding at the moment, while the pre-quarterfinals, semi-finals, and final are to be followed towards the conclusion of the ongoing month all the way into the first week of November.

The face-off between Rayudu and Jackson:

Meanwhile, fTh and it became a big topic of discussion on social media. The incident happened during an encounter in round 2 of elite group D, earlier in the day.

Allegedly, Rayudu was unhappy with Jackson spending unnecessary time before facing the deliveries during the high-octane run chase and he made sure that the Saurashtra player knows it. The exchange lasted for a few seconds, as both the players were separated by their teammates and the on-field umpires.

 Sheldon Jackson visibly lost his concentration after the incident and eventually got dismissed with a score of 17. However, Saurashtra still managed to pull off a comprehensive victory while chasing a huge total of 174 in relatively tough conditions at the Holkar Stadium located in Indore.

Ambati Rayudu is leading the star-studded team of Baroda in the renowned tournament. It was a day to forget for him as he was dismissed on a duck with the bat, and later on, Baroda faced an embarrassing defeat. He will now be keen to get back on the field following a couple of days’ rest in the team’s next encounter.
