SL vs AFG: Furious Rashid Khan Lashes Out At Teammate Fazal Farooqi Following A Dismissal

T20 World Cup 2022: Mohammad Nabi-led Afghanistan suffered an embarrassing defeat in their fourth encounter of the ongoing T20 World Cup against Sri Lanka earlier today (Tuesday). It was a poor outing for Afghanistan in all three departments in the high-octane Asian derby, which ultimately resulted in them facing a massive 6-wicket defeat at The Gabba.

A defeat in this game marked the elimination of Afghanistan from the ongoing World Cup. The emerging Asian side ranks at the bottom of the Group 1 point tally, having only two points to its name so far. The Mohammad Nabi-led side will now hope to conclude things on a positive note in their last game against the defending champions Australia, scheduled on November 4.

“We tried to post a good score on the board. The wicket got slower toward the end. We gave away too many opportunities for them to hit. We didn’t play any games in the last 10 days, we didn’t get any momentum. We have one more game, hopefully, we do well.” said Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi in the post-match presentation

Meanwhile, A video of Rashid Khan comically scolding his teammate Fazal Farooqi during the exact match is doing rounds on social media. In the video, The veteran leg-spinner suddenly lashed out at Farooqi while celebrating a dismissal of Kusal Mendis. Later on, it was revealed that Rashid did it as Farooqi committed a misfield while fielding at the point region earlier in the same over.

Rashid Khan remained as the pick of the bowlers for Afghanistan in the match. He managed to scalp a couple of wickets in his four-over quota, with an impressive economy of 7.80 in the high-pressure run defense. Unfortunately, his efforts went into vain as the likes of Galbadin Naib and Fareed malik were hammered by the Sri Lankan batters at the business end of the match.
