Lucknow and Ahmedabad can poach 3 players each from the players who are not retained by their respective teams. Now from a few weeks, rapid rumors are spreading regarding Lucknow that this franchisee is putting other franchises in contract players. According to BCCI rules, no team can put other teams in contract players.
KL Rahul from Punjab Kings has been poached by Lucknow and even they give him a captain contract for the team. Sanjiv Goenka is the owner of the IPL franchise. Rashid Khan of Sunrisers Hyderabad was also poached by Lucknow. Punjab and SRH have complained to BCCI regarding the illegal act done by the Lucknow franchisee. Rashid Khan and KL Rahul are the key players for their respective teams. So it is a clear-cut illegal act done by Sanjeev Goenka.
BCCI become active in this issue
BCCI came forward on this issue and their leisure statement, “We have not received any letter but we’ve received a verbal complaint from two franchises about player poaching by Lucknow team. We are looking into it and we will take appropriate actions if it proves to be true,” reads an unnamed BCCI official’s statement. It would be great trouble for Lucknow if they did the same again.

Sanjiv Goenka is a former name in controversy in IPL
Sanjiv Goenka is also the owner of the former IPL team Rising Pune Supergiant. 2016-17 is the year when Rising Pune Supergiant is active in IPL. In 2016 IPL MS Dhoni-led the Goenka-owned franchise.
In 2017, MS was removed from captaincy as he did not do well in 2016. This gesture of Sanjeev Goenka hurt the Dhoni fan following. Goenka and his controversy in IPL is a great match.
