Rohit Sharma Trolled By Fans For His 'Building A New Team' Promotional Tweet

The preparations of the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team are going in full swing ahead of the all-important T20 World cup 2022. The star-stubbed 14-member squad is in Parth, featuring in a couple of warm-up games against a prominent local team namely Western Australia. India came out victorious in the first encounter, while the second one is proceeding at the moment.

Men In Blue will enter the marquee ICC event with plenty of expectations. The team is considered to be one of the favorites to achieve the elite title. The last time India won the ICC title was back in 2013 (Champions Trophy). The team will certainly be desperate to end their nine-year marathon wait to win an ICC tournament.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma has grabbed some eyeballs on social media with his latest promotional tweet. The skipper of India posted a tweet earlier in the day (Thursday) ahead of India’s second warm-up game which managed to upset Indian fans. The tweet has more than 2000 comments and has been retweeted more than 4000 times.

“I’m building a new team. Who’s down? #OwnTheSquad #collab” wrote the Indian captain in his latest tweet.

The Mumbaikar did not feature in the proceeding warm-up game against Western Australia. He was dismissed on the single-digit score in the last game. The right-hander has not looked in touch in the last few games. He will be desperate to get back on the field and contribute in the upcoming formal practice matches, heading into the crucial ICC event.

“Lot of the guys haven’t been to Australia, that’s why we are going there early. We want to play on the bouncy pitches of Perth, we want to see what we can do there. Only 7,8 members of the squad have been to Australia, so we have organized a few practice games.” said Sharma before flying to Australia
