The first test at IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali is a special one for India’s current two heroes Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as this test match is Virat Kohli’s 100th test match and this test match is the beginning of Rohit Sharma ‘The Captain’ in Test Cricket.
Virat Kohli became the 12th Indian to achieve the feat after Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Anil Kumble, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Sourav Ganguly, Ishant Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, and Virender Sehwag.
Former Indian Captain, Virat Kohli gets a guard of honour as his teammates stood in line as he walked out to the field in his 100th Test match against SL.
This incident happened before the Start of the 2nd innings, after the tea break on day two.
Kohli acknowledged the gesture from his teammates and soaked in the appreciation from the crowd

Rohit Sharma asks Virat Kohli to come again
Rohit Sharma, who is the new Test Captain asked Virat Kohli to come again as they wanted him to go behind the boundary rope and come back again for the guard of Honour in his 100th test before the huddle talk.

Virat Kohli scored 45 runs in the first innings of the ongoing Test and he was dismissed by Lasith Embuldeniya.

“I want to thank the BCCI and getting my 100th Test cap from one of my childhood heroes is indeed amazing,” Kohli said as Dravid presented him with a special cap.
“It is a special moment for me. My wife is here and so is my brother. Everyone is very proud. It is indeed a team game and it couldn’t have been possible without you. With the amount we play with three formats and an IPL, the one takeaway the next generation can take from me is that I played 100 games in the purest format,” says Kohli.

“I still remember the day when Virat came to my East Delhi cricket academy for the first time. He was a naughty boy who was very enthusiastic and eager to play. While coaching him, I realised that he has a lot of potentials and was different from others. I still remember the day of June 2011 when he called me and said that he got selected for the Indian Test team. It was a very emotional moment and we hugged each other and now finally he will be playing his 100th Test match,” Raj Kumar Sharma Said
“It’s a very proud moment for me as one of my students will be playing his 100th Test match for India. I wish him all the best for his upcoming matches also,” he added.
