After a ten-day long break, the action in the ongoing Test series between India and Australia continued earlier today (March 1). The third test of the high-octane series is occurring at the Holkar Stadium of Indore, which can very well be a defining fixture in the four-match series. Australia is desperate to bag their first victory of the tour, while Rohit Sharma’s Indian team has a genuine opportunity to achieve a series win.
The first day of the proceeding Indore test has been action packed with Australia dominating the game. Following a horrible batting collapse, India bundled out on a low score of 109 after opting to bat first at the toss. Matthew Kunheman remained Australia’s pick of the bowlers with a five-wicket haul while Virat Kohli was India’s top-scorer with a 22-run inning. In response, Australia is currently 42 for 1.

Meanwhile, Marnus Labuschagne was dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja yet again in the series. Labuschagne chopped the ball straight into the stumps in an attempt to play an aggressive shot in the covers region. However, the smile on Jadeja’s face did not last long as the on-field umpire confirmed that it was a no-ball shortly after the dismissal. It was the third time in the ongoing series that Jadeja dismissed a batter on a no-ball.
“No ball for anyone, especially a spinner, has to be unacceptable. Jadeja is an exceptional cricketer but this is an infection that is taking time to go away.” wrote Cricket expert Harsha Bhogle in his latest tweet while describing the bo-ball episode

Earlier today, Ravindra Jadeja became the second Indian to score 5000 runs and take 500 wickets in the history of International Cricket. Jadeja achieved the remarkable feat after dismissing Australian opener Travis’s head in the form of leg-before. The 34-year-old further recently became the number 1 ranked all-around in the ICC test rankings. He has been India’s biggest contributor in the ongoing series and his performance will remain key going forward as well.
