Team India is playing their 2nd test in the 5 match test series against England in Lord’s Cricket stadium. The match started on Thursday 12th August in London. In the first test India was so close to victory as they had to score only 157 runs on the last day. But the hopes of winning the match went down as the last day was washed away by the rain and the match ended up in a draw.
The 2nd match began with England captain Joe Root again winning the toss and opted to bowl first. The Indian fans were curious about why Ravichandran Ashwin was not included in the playing XI. However it was later came out from the Indian captain Virat Kohli that Ashwin was left out due to the weather conditions and pitch conditions in London.
Virat Kohli stated, “We announced 12 within the group, and Ashwin was definitely was part of that. But this (playing Ishant over Ashwin) makes the most sense for us as a team.” Virat Kohli also gave a statement on fans being allowed in the stadium “With the crowds back in, it’s a pleasure to be here. An honor to play in front of crowds.”

Coming to the 2nd test, the first day was delayed due to the rain. The Indian then came out to bat and they were looking for a strong start on the first day itself. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul opened for India and they were in form. However, Rohit Sharma got dismissed by James Anderson scoring 83 runs off 145 balls. The other wickets for England were of Chiteshwar Pujara scoring only 9 runs and Virat Kohli scoring 42 runs.
The second day will start with the score of 276/3 with KL Rahul on 127 runs and Ajinkya Rahane on 1 run. India will look forward to scoring more runs building up a huge total for England to chase.
