Ravi Shastri and Suresh Raina will be commentating in IPL 2022
Everyone is excited as IPL 2022 (season 15) is set to begin from 26th March, Friday. Inclusion of two new teams Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants will make this year’s IPL more exciting and competitive.
Former Punjab Kings captain is set to lead Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Former Mumbai Indians all-rounder Hardik Pandya will lead Gujarat Titans (GT) in this season.
Suresh Raina Remains unsold in mega Auction
Earlier, In the month of February, IPL Mega Auction had commenced. It was a new and fresh start to all the franchises to build their team.
The IPL 2022 placed 10 in two “virtual” groups during the league phase of the tournament. The groups are based on the number of times a team has won the IPL or made the finals.
Group A will be led by five-time champions Mumbai Indians, who are the top overall seeds, while four-time winners Chennai Super Kings, will lead Group B with the No. 2 seeding.
The other teams in Group A are Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants. Group B features Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans.
The IPL has decided to restrict the league phase to four venues across two cities, Mumbai and Pune.
Mumbai will host most of the matches (55), the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium of Pune will host 15 matches during the league phase.
Every team will play four times each at Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil and three times each at Brabourne Stadium and the MCA Stadium.
