Quinton de Kock impressed the fans from behind the stumps with a lighting quick stumping against Rishabh Pant in the first ODI match at Paarl. On the first ball of the 34th over which was bowled Andre Phehlukwayo, Pant tried to play the flick shot on length ball down leg but unfortunately lost the momentum and was out of the crease. De Kock collected the ball and quickly whipped off the stumps. Pant got out on a wide ball after scoring 16 runs off 22 balls.

Phehlukwayo to Pant, wide, out Stumped!! Stumping appeal sent upstairs. Pant doesn’t wait for the decision. He’s walking. 129kph, length ball down leg, Pant misses the flick and the momentum takes him out of the crease. Quinton de Kock, standing up to the sticks, collects it down the leg and quickly whips off the bails to stump the batter out. Excellent glovework from QdK. India has lost half their side and South Africa is definitely on top now!
South Africa beat India by 31 runs and take a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series
Hundreds by Temba Bavuma and Rassie Van der Dussen were enough to beat India by 31 runs. Both the batters had a great fourth-wicket partnership as an added 204 runs which help South Africa recover after 68-3.
Temba Bavuma played the captain’s knock by scoring 110 runs off 143 balls (8 fours). On the other side, Dussen played the aggressive role as he scored 129 off 96 balls at a strike rate of 134.38 (9 fours and 4 sixes). South Africa gave a target of 297 runs.
For India, only Bumrah and Ashwin were able to take wickets (Jasprit 2 wickets, Ashwin 1 wicket). The main issue was Team India wasn’t able to take wickets in the middle overs which KL Rahul, the captain was admitted in the post-match.
For India, the chase went well till Shikhar and Virat were playing. After the early wicket of Rahul, Virat and Shikhar added 92 runs for the second wicket partnership. Shikhar got out on a sharp turn ball from Maharaj while he was batting on 79 runs.
Kohli scored 51 runs and got out while playing a sweep shot. After that India lost wickets at regular intervals as the middle order couldn’t contribute enough with the bat.
A Cameo from Shardul, down the order, was also not enough to take India over the line as India lost to South Africa by 31 runs. With this loss, India is 0-1 down in the three-match series.
