The proceeding edition of the Pakistan Super League is going on in full swing. The season has been full of thrilling fixtures and yesterday’s (Wednesday) Karachi-Multan game was the latest one on the list. Imad Wasim-led Karachi Kings squad off against Mohammad Rizwan’s Multan Sultan at the iconic Multan Cricket Stadium. The encounter ended up as a last-ball thriller, with hosts Multan Sultans achieving a remarkable triumph.
Abbas Afridi, who held his nerves in the last over, remained Multan Sultans’ star. Afridi executed his plans to perfection under a lot of pressure when Karachi needed 15 runs in the last over in batting-friendly conditions. Moreover, skipper Mohammad Rizwan was named the player of the match for a mammoth 110-run knock at the home ground. On the other hand, Karachi Kings’ skipper Imad Wasim was left disappointed after missing a hit on the last ball to seal the deal for the team.
Frustrated Wasim Akram kicks chair after loses against Multan Sultans
Meanwhile, former Pakistan pacer and current president of Karachi Kings, Wasim Akram was visibly frustrated after the defeat against Multan Sultans. Akram was sitting alone in the dugout and kicked the chairs in front of him after the last ball. Luck has not favoured the Karachi-based side in recent times and the disappointment has been massive.

“We had it in the bag and couldn’t finish it off. The intent was really nice but we slowed down in the middle overs but it is T20 cricket and you have to finish games. We have to sit and talk, if we lose one more then we are out of the competition, we are there and thereabout, it is a matter of correcting those small mistakes and getting over the line.” said Karachi captain Imad Wasim in the post-match presentation.
Karachi Kings have had a horrible run in the last couple of seasons of the PSL. Earlier, The team was led by Babar Azam but the team got rid of him ahead of the ongoing season. Azam was drafted to Peshawar Zalmi earlier this year, however, there has been no change in the team’s fortune as of now.
