Priyank Panchal likely to join Gujarat Titans as a backup player

Fans are excited as IPL 2022 (season 15) is set to begin from 26th March, Friday. The inclusion of two new teams Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants will make this year’s IPL more exciting and competitive. Former Mumbai Indians all-rounder Hardik Pandya is set to lead Gujarat Titans (GT) in this season.

Before the IPL Mega Auction Gujarat Titans had drafted Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya for ₹15Cr, Afghani leggie Rashid Khan for ₹15Cr, and Indian batter Shubhman Gill for ₹8Cr into their team.

In the month of February, IPL Mega Auction commenced. It was a new and fresh start for all the franchises to build their team. After the IPL Mega Auction Gujarat Titan’s management was happy as the auction went very well for them.

Gujarat’s skipper is likely to be a backup player for Gujarat Titans

Hardik Pandya is reportedly said to join Gujarat Titans as a backup player. A source, close to the development, said that Panchal is likely to join Gujarat Titans as a backup player soon. Panchal has scored 1327 runs in 50 T20 matches at a strike rate of 126.98 in domestic cricket. The Gujarat captain scored 188 runs in five innings at a strike rate of 135.25 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021-22 season.

He was earlier named as a replacement for Rohit Sharma in India’s Test squad for the South Africa Test series. Gujarat Titans will play their first match against fellow IPL debutants Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on March 28 at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai
