Parthiv Patel Backs Shubman Gill’s T20I Future
Meanwhile, veteran Indian batter Parthiv Patel has slammed the critics of Shubman Gill following his batting heroics in Florida. Patel appeared unhappy with Shubman Gill’s criticism after poor outings in the first few games of the series. The 38-year-old believes that Gill is equally potent to play T20s and further has the potential to be an all-format player for India.
Here is what Parthiv Patel Said :
“Shubman Gill was outstanding today. We know the potential of Shubman Gill; we have the tendency of questioning someone who doesn’t get runs. After just a couple of performances here and there, we should not say he can’t play T20s or he can’t play ODIs,” said Parthiv Patel on Cricbuzz
“We need to keep faith in players. When you are trying to play attacking cricket, you might get out, especially an opener playing the T20 format. Shubman Gill was outstanding with his shot selection. He is probably a player of all formats.” the former India batter further added
Shubman Gill was dismissed on single-digit scores in the first three fixtures of the series which triggered a lot of backlash. Gill, however, made up for his early failures with an extravagant knock in the 4th T20I in Florida. Helping India breeze past West Indies in the run chase, the opening batter hammered a match-winning 77 runs off just 47 deliveries.
