SA20: The inaugural edition of the SA20 is gradually heading towards its business end, with the last week of play remaining. The opening season of the South Africa-based T20 competition has been full of enthralling action. As many as six star-studded sides participate in the tournament, featuring multiple renowned local and global faces. As things stand, less than 10 matches are remained to be played in the league stage, before things head into all-important playoffs.
The contest between Rashid Khan-led MI Cape Town and Quinton De Kock-led Durban Super Giants was the most recent fixture of the SA 20, season 2023. The encounter between two heavyweights ended up as a thriller with the Durban-based side achieving a triumph in the last over. Thousands watched the fixture, while Durban batter Breetzke managed to take his team over the line with a massive six.
Quinton De Kock showed his class throughout this inning: Abhinav Mukund
Meanwhile, the prominent Tamil Nadu batter Abhinav Mukund has lauded Durban Super Giants’ opener Quinton De Kock after a match-winning inning against MI Cape Town yesterday (Thursday). Mukund stated that none of the bowlers can restrict De Kock once he manages to set his eyes in. He further believes that the Durban ground suits the Southpaw’s style of batsmanship.
“The Quinton de Kock we all know and love. That’s exactly what he did because once he starts going, there’s no bowler in the world that can stop him. He showed that today. Clearly, he takes a liking to the Durban ground because when one side is short, where do you bowl to him? He cuts fiercely, he plays the pull shot, that’s his favorite shot.” said Abhinav Mukund
“The pull shot is something that he loves doing, so you can’t bowl on both sides of the pitch on this particular surface, and their side boundaries are this short. It’s a dream for someone like Quinton De Kock. He showed his class throughout this innings.” Mukund further added during the match center on Sports18
Quinton De Kock was named the player of the match in the Durban-Cape Twon clash following a match-winning half-century. De Kock played a 63-run knock in just 63 deliveries. It was a delightful inning from the wicketkeeper, who is leading Durban Super Giants in the SA20 2023.
