The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team kicked off their campaign in the ongoing T20I World Cup 2022 on a fitting note. India registered a significant victory over Babar Azam-led Pakistan in a last-ball thriller in their opening game of the tournament at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. It was a remarkable performance from the Men In Blue in a high-voltage game.
The Caravan of team India now heads to Sydney for the upcoming game of the competition against the Netherlands which is scheduled to occur on October 27. The encounter will have a lot at stake for both the marquee sides, especially for the Netherlands as a victory is a must for them in order to keep their prospect for the semi-finals alive.

No one thought about Suryakumar Yadav being an impact player: Kapil Dev
Meanwhile, former India world cup-winning captain Kapil Dev has heavily praised Suryakumar Yadav for his recent performance. Dev believes that having an attacking batter of Yadav’s quality in the middle order has empowered India’s batting unit. He further went on to confess that he cannot think about the national T20 side without Yadav.
The performance of Suryakumar Yadav has been second to none throughout the year when it comes to the shortest format of the game. Having featured in only 33 T20 internationals, He occupies second place in the updated ICC T20I rankings of batters. The right-hander possesses the elite ability to score consistently at a relatively higher strike rate.

“In fact, no one ever thought about Yadav being an impact player in the future, but he did great with his batting and forced the world to talk about him. Now, we can’t think about India without him,” said Kapil Dev.
“Having a batter like Suryakumar in the team in the company of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul, a team automatically becomes strong,” he further added.
