PSL 2023: The ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League is occurring in full swing across various venues in Pakistan. The Pakistan-based T20 competition kicked off in the second week of February and a week’s play is remaining before things head to the playoffs. Imad Wasim-led Karachi Kings is the only team to be eliminated from the tournament as all the other four teams are still in contention for the playoffs.
The encounter between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators was the recent most fixture in PSL 2023. The Karachi-Quetta clash ended up as a last-over thriller with Quetta Gladiators managing to achieve a close 4-wicket triumph. New Zealand opener Martin Guptill remained the pick of the bowlers for the Quetta-based team following a match-winning 86-run knock (unbeaten).
Mohammad Amir loses his cool after a missed catching opportunity
Meanwhile, Mohammad Amir’s outburst at Tayyab Tahir during yesterday’s clash between Karachi and Quetta remained a big talking point on social media. Tahir, who was positioned in the mid-off region, did not attempt a possible catching opportunity following Sarfaraz Ahmed’s mistimed hit. The episode occurred in a crunch situation during the penultimate over of the match, ultimately sparking anger on Amir’s face.

“It’s very disappointing for me and the Karachi fans. Unfortunately, it didn’t go our way. Along with the luck, we also made some mistakes. Winning and losing is part of the game. Last game against Lahore and we will definitely try and put up a good performance. It hasn’t been our season, very disappointed but this is how life goes.” said Karachi captain Imad Wasim after the loss against Quetta
It was a substandard outing for Mohammad Amir in Monday’s encounter against Quetta Gladiators. Amir was hammered for a whopping 37 runs in his 4-over quota, portraying a terrible economy of 9.20. The right-arm pacer appeared off-colored throughout a major part of the ongoing competition which ultimately hampered Karachi’s overall performance. Amir managed to take just 9 wickets in 7 league matches in relatively hostile conditions for bowling.
