Pat Cummins-led Australia is in the headlines following a historic victory over India in the 2023 World Cup final. Displaying an astute cricketing performance, Australia got the better of Rohit Sharma’s India in the marquee finale yesterday to claim their 6th World Cup title. The epic 6-wicket final win by the Men In Yellow caused millions of heartbreaks in the home nation of this World Cup, India.
Travis Head, the ace opening batter, headlined Australia’s triumph over India in Ahmedabad yesterday. In the tricky run chase of 241, Head struck a whopping 137 runs off 120 deliveries in the face of a fierce India bowling unit. Moreover, middle-order batter Marnus Labuschagne accompanied him brilliantly in the high-pressure chase, remaining unbeaten on 58.
A Rude Act By Marcus Stoinis And Adam Zampa During Medal Ceremony
Before Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed Australia skipper Pat Cummins the World Cup trophy, all the 15 members of the Australia squad were awarded special medals. Each Australian player shook hands with legendary India batter Sachin Tendulkar, BCCI secretary Jay Shah, and BCCI president Roger Binny before collecting the medal.
Marcus Stoinis and Adam Zampa, however, had no interest in shaking hands with either of them. Both senior Australian players avoided interacting with Sachin Tendulkar and the BCCI officials, carrying a look of arrogance on their faces. The reason behind the unimpressive act by Stoinis and Zampa is yet to be known and they are presently facing some serious smoke on social media.

“Interesting to see the strategy today. Winning the toss and bowling, we knew it would spin and it would be difficult to score runs. The Cummins spell was a bit of a game-changer, and the bowling innings were pretty much unbelievable today. We knew the wicket was getting better to bat and that’s when we started getting more confident.” said Adam Zampa after winning the final
