Latest Cricket News: The highly anticipated players auction for the Indian Premier League edition 2024 is all set to occur on December 19. The famous Dubai city is reportedly the front contender to host the IPL 2024 auction, with Bangalore also being considered as the venue. If the marquee event formally transpires in Dubai, it will be the first-ever IPL auction to take place overseas.

As per the latest reports, the ten participating franchises will head into the mini-auction with an increased purse worth INR 100 Crore. The ten franchises have been officially told to submit the lists of their retained and released players by November 15. Moreover, the ultimate auction pool for the 2024 IPL is likely to be finalized by early December.

Latest Cricket News: ‘I Am Going Through The Rehab Phase’ MS Dhoni Hints At IPL Participation

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni recently provided a major update on his potential participation in the next season of the Indian Premier League. In a media event last week, Dhoni revealed that he is currently undergoing the rehab process following his knee surgery. The Chennai Super Kings captain stated that the surgery ended in a massive success, however, there is still a long way to go to reach Cricket-fitness. 

MS Dhoni also confirmed that he will participate in the approaching IPL season, provided things in his rehab go as planned. The wicketkeeper led the Chennai-based team to its fifth IPL title earlier this year, despite his personal battle with a knee injury. The good news for fans is that he still appears keen to feature in the Yellow jersey in the coming times. 

Here’s what MS Dhoni said in a recent media event:

“I just had knee surgery, my knee has survived the operation, and I’m now going through the rehab phase. If everything goes right, you will see me playing IPL next year. If not, I will watch the match with the fans. The doctor told me you would feel much better by November. But there is no problem in my day-to-day routine.”
