The marquee Asian competition will formally run for as many as 19 days with the final scheduled on September 17. The Asia Cup, this time, will witness the participation of six marquee Asian teams divided into two groups at the start of the tournament.

Team India’s campaign in the Asia Cup 2023 will commence on September 2, with a clash against Pakistan. Meanwhile, premier Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan has come out with a strong statement while responding to Ajit Agarkar’s recent comments. Agarkar, the chief selector of India, had earlier said ‘Virat Kohli will take care of them’ after being asked about plans to tackle the fierce fast bowling attack of Pakistan. The incident happened when Ajit Agarkar interacted with the press to announce India’s squad for the Asia Cup.

The exact episode was conveyed to Shadab Khan by a local journalist during a recent press conference and the all-rounder was quick to respond. Shadab affirmed that words do not mean much and it all boils down to how things pan out on the match day.
