The proceeding one-day international series between India and South Africa is heading toward its business end, as the top sides are set to take on each other in the series decider. The series is now leveled with both teams having managed to register one victory each so far in the three-match series.

It will be a quick turnaround for the series-decider. The top sides faced each other recently on Sunday (October 9). The renowned Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium of Delhi will host the all-important encounter, possibly with full crowd capacity. Being the hosts, India are favorites to clinch a triumph, however, a competitive performance from the Proteas is certainly expected.

Meanwhile, The parents of Shahbaz Ahmed went on to reflect on the cricketer’s early struggles during an interaction with Indian Express. The father of the all-rounder Jan Ahmed revealed a strict warning to his son while he was leaving the home after dropping out from college, in order to pursue a cricketing career. 

Shahbaz’s mother added that he was determined to do something remarkable in cricket. She also mentioned that the all-rounder was felicitated by his college after his recent success in the Indian Premier League. 

“Maine usse us din kaha kuch kar ke aana, warna mat aana waapis (Do something with your life, otherwise don’t come back),” said Shahbaz Ahmed’s father

“He was determined to do something big. Even his college professors told him that it was a mistake because he was a good student. Shahbaz told his head of the department that ‘one day you will give me my degree and also felicitate me.’ And last year it happened,” added Shahbaz Ahmed’s mother.

Young sensation Shahbaz Ahmed made his debut for the Indian team in the proceeding ODI series against South Africa. He received the India call after consistent performance for a prominent IPL franchise namely Royal Challengers Bangalore. The all-rounder has looked impressive so far in his early career.
