In the third and the final test match between India and South Africa at Capetown, Jasprit Bumrah sent back South Africa’s skipper Dean Elgar with a cracker delivery.
In the 3rd over of his spell (5th over of the 2nd innings,) Jasprit gave Team India the first breakthrough. On the fourth ball of the over, he bowled a length delivery, angling across the southpaw opener.
The line was so close to the stumps which forced Elgar to play at it. He tried to go with soft hands but ended up getting a thick edge to the first slip into the safe hands of Cheteshwar Pujara. Elgar ended up scoring just three runs.

There is the early wicket India was desperate for! A cracker from Bumrah and nothing much Elgar could have done about this one. Was the away-angler that pitched on middle and leg, and seamed away a big, squaring up the SA captain all ends up. Thick edge and into the hands of Pujara at first slip. Huge, huge blow this, given that Elgar is the glue around which this rather inexperienced South African batting revolves.
India’s batting failed except skipper Virat Kohli.
Team India scored 223 runs in the first innings. Virat Kohli was the top scorer by scoring a brilliant knock of scoring 79 runs off 201 balls which includes 12 fours and a six. Cheteshwar Pujara missed out on a fifty as he scored 43 runs off 77 balls.
For South Africa, Kagiso Rabada led the bowling attack by picking up 4 big wickets. Rest all tye bowlers also contributed as Marco Jansen picked 3 wickets, Duanne Olivier, Lungi Ngidi, and Maharaj scalped one wicket each. At the end of play on Day-1 South Africa managed to score 17 runs for the loss of one wicket.
