Jade Dernbach, who played for England way back in 2014 is all set to represent Italy. He is named in the 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier. This qualifier to be held next month.
Jade Dernbach, a South-african born English cricket, who played for Surrey from his younger days. He was also selected in T20 World Cup 2014 for England. But due to poor performance and good consistency bowling led to an unceremonious sacking from the side. Dernbach wasn’t quite cemented a spot due to his wayward temperament in pressure situation.
Dernbach’s opportunities in county cricket have been limited in recent years. Jade will leave Surrey at the end of this season. But he will resume his International career after being persuaded to declare for Italy.

Jade Dernbach has played 34 T20I and 24 ODI for England. He has a bowling average of 42.1 and 26.15 in ODI and T20I respectively. He used to play for Surrey in county cricket.
Gareth Berg, the Northamptonshire all-rounder has been named the captain and head-coach in a side. Moreover, the Australian-born all-rounder Grant Stewart also in the team . Owais Shah, who played 94 International games for England, has been named as the side’s assistant coach.
Italy reached October’s qualifier – which forms part of the pathway for the 2022 T20 World Cup – by virtue of their T20I ranking, after the sub-qualifier events were cancelled by the ICC due to Covid-19. They will face Jersey, Germany and Denmark from October 15-21 in Spain, with the top two teams progressing to the global qualifiers in early 2022.
