IPL 2024 Prediction: The highly anticipated players auction for the Indian Premier League edition 2024 is confirmed to occur later this year, on December 19. The famous Dubai city in the United Arab Emirates will formally host the mini-auction which is set to be a one-day event. Occurring in the Coca-Cola arena of Dubai, it will be the first time that an IPL auction is being conducted overseas.
As per the latest reports, the deadline for franchises to unveil the list of their retained players is November 26. Until last week, November 15 was believed to be the retention deadline, however, it has now been officially extended. All ten franchises participating in the upcoming Indian Premier League season were communicated the above details by the BCCI on Friday.
IPL 2024 Prediction: Franchises To Enter The Auction With Increased Purse Worth
The ten participating franchises will head into the approaching IPL auction with an increased purse worth INR 100 crore in total, which was INR 95 crore in the last auction. Franchises now will operate under a total salary cap of INR 100 crore. They have to accommodate their retained players and the players they sign in the auction in the same 100-crore salary cap.
Moreover, the purses of IPL teams will be updated on the auction day after considering the value of the players they have released and their non-used purses from the last auction. Following is the list of unutilized purses of all ten franchises from last year’s Indian Premier League auction.
