April 29: Lucknow Super Giants are locking horns with the Punjab Kings in their 9th game of the season at the iconic MCS stadium which is located in Pune. The teams are led by Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul respectively – The two are known for their friendship and have played for the same team since childhoodMayank Agarwal elected to bowl after winning the toss.
PBKS captain Mayank Agarwal said: We are going to bowl first. We’d like to know what total to chase. No changes to our lineup. There is very little dew here. The guys are quite flexible. It’s going to be a terrific challenge.
LSG captain KL Rahul said: When dew is not around, it’s quite an even game. I have played here before, we’ll have to bat smartly. Manish misses out, and Avesh Khan comes in. It’s a high boundary-scoring ground, good to have an extra bowling option.
Lucknow Super Giants managed to post a par total of 153 on the board with the brilliant batting effort of KL Rahul and tailenders. Meanwhile, Kagiso Rabada shone with the ball for the Agarwal-led side as he scalped 4 big wickets.
Quinton De Kock’s heart winning gesture :
The South African wicket-keeper, after getting out, did something which managed to surprise everyone including the team Punjab Kings. De Kock was out caught behind by Jitesh Sharma while trying to play a cut-shot against the right-hand pacer Sandeep Sharma.
However, The umpire did not raise his finger and was not interested in the appeal. De Kock walked off even before PBKS thought about going up for the DRS. Sandeep Sharma, The bowler of PBKS appreciated the gesture De Kock by tapping on his back.
The sportsmanship of De Kock was appreciated by the social media users and the fans as the moments like this provide inspiration for the young players to play the sports in a fairway. He walked to the dressing room after scoring 46 off 37 deliveries.
