IPL 2022 : Royal Challengers Bangalore Sign 18-year-old Leg Spinner From Afghanistan As A Net Bowler

The action of the 15th season of IPL will officially begin on March 26. However, The Royal Challengers Bangalore will start their campaign with a match against KL Rahul-led Punjab Kings. The match will take place on March 27.

The Bangalore-based franchise recently announced its new skipper. As Virat Kohli has resigned from the role of captaincy after the last season of the Indian Premier League. Faf Du Plessis, the former South Africa captain will lead the franchise in IPL 2022. Dinesh Karthik is set to be named as the vice-captain of the team. Sanjay Bangar is elected for the position of head coach.

The team was able to retain three big names in the form of Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Mohammad Siraj. The Bangalore-based franchise picked some big players like Dinesh Karthik, Du Plessis, Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel, and Josh Hazelwood.

RCB signed Afghanistani spinner for the season :

Izharulhaq Naveed, The 18-year-old leg spinner will be another name from Afghanistan to feature in the marquee league. The Bangalore-based franchise has signed him as a net bowler. The pick of a net bowler from RCB looked surprising as the leg spinner does not have great first-class numbers and is inexperienced.

The Afghanistan spinner has played only 7 List A games and ended up taking 8 wickets. Afghanistani players like Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb Ur Rehaman, Rehmanullah Gurbaz will also be part of the league, They will be playing for Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Titans respectively.

It will be a huge learning curve for the young leg spinner as he will be bowling against the likes of Virat Kohli, Faf Du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik in the nets.
