Mark Wood has successfully underwent elbow surgery in London on Saturday after he sustained an injury in the first test match against West Indies earlier this month in Antigua. ECB has confirmed that Wood’s operation was a successful one and also mentioned the procedure. “removed bone and scar tissue to address an impingement problem that was causing pain in his elbow when bowling”.
After his operation, Mark Wood posted his image and a few hilarious videos on his Instagram with a caption “Who says hospital gowns aren’t cool eh!!??”
“No more boney fragments in my arm! Thanks to Professor Roger van Riet and Mr Ali Noorani for sorting me out and all the staff who made me feel totally at ease. Langers, the England physio videoed me coming out of the anesthetic – Bah, I talk some absolute rubbish!!!”
“Is my shoulder meant to be sore? That’s weird that. I’ve have had elbow surgery but my shoulders aching. Whatever. I’ll still bowl fast.”
In one of the videos, the England pacer was asked about his IPL return, where in response he stated about the head coach of Lucknow Super Giants
“I am so sad. Not [playing] this time. I like Andy Flower. He’s a nice guy. Keyhole. Has Bowen gone? Lollipop, lollipop,” Wood regrets not playing IPL 2022.
