In the crowd, one fan yelled “Pakistan Murdabad” with a few others people joining it with “Murdabad Murdabad”. Later the Indian fans were heard chanting “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram” to show their patriotic side.

The stand-in skipper, Rahane won the toss and elected to bat first. India didn’t have them both first-choice options in form of Rohit and Rahul which meant that Shubman needed to bat at the top and Shreyas Iyer made his Test debut in the middle order.
