In the ongoing ODI match between India and West Indies at Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad, Rohit Sharma took a great DRS call to dismiss Darren Bravo.
This series against West Indies is the beginning of Rohit Sharma as India’s full-time captain in white-ball cricket for India. And in the First ODI also impressed the fans with the DRS calls. In the first game, three decisions were overturned in India’s favor which means Rohit took three right DRS calls.
In the second match, Rohit took a brilliant DRS to get rid of Dareen Bravo
This incident happened on the first ball of the 9th over, where Team India had a big shout for caught behind but the on-field umpire didn’t look interested at all.
Rohit Sharma and Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant both were persuaded that the batsman had edged the ball and Rohit went with the DRS and he also got the DRS right as the reply showed that Dareen Bravo had edged the ball.

Commentary of the same –
Prasidh to Darren Bravo, out Caught by Pant!! Another shout, this time for caught behind, no one looks convinced. And then Rohit asks for a review – there was a sound as the ball went past the bat. But the bat then clearly hit the pad – that’s the sound everyone heard.
UltraEdge in and there’s a spike when the ball is beside the bat, there’s a bigger spike when the bat hits the pad – the third umpire is convinced that there was a bit of bat on the ball and asks Nitin Menon to reverse his call.
Bravo is OUT and he puts his head down as he walks back dejectedly. But what a review by India – Prasidh shortened the length and angled one across the left-hander, Bravo was late in pressing forward, the ball kissed the edge and Pant did the rest. He managed to convince his captain and turned out to be an excellent review in the end.
Sunil Gavaskar praised Rohit for his spot-on DRS calls after First ODI
“Rohit Sharma got those reviews to spot on. Earlier when Dhoni used to get more right than wrong, it was called as Dhoni Review System. Now you can term it as ‘Definitely Rohit System’,” said Sunil Gavaskar in a chat on Star Sports.
