Venkatesh Iyer, the left-hander, cleared the fine leg with a six, the ball went straight into the Indian dugout. In the 16th over of Sheldon Cottrell, Venkatesh Iyer hit a six over the fine leg. The ball went like a bullet directly into the Indian dugout which is placed near the boundary rope. Indian players sitting in the dugout made the visual look extremely funny. The video showed Shreyas Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal, and others running all over the place saving themselves. In the process, Chahal fell to the ground.

During a recent Interview, The Indian Captain Rohit Sharma provided clarity on why Venkatesh Iyer was picked over Shreyas Iyer.
Checkout what Rohit Sharma said
Rohit said: “Someone like Shreyas Iyer is sitting out, very hard on him to be out and not making it to the XI, but it’s what the team requires. We need that option in the middle, someone who can bowl.”
“We were very clear with Shreyas, we told him the team wants that option (of an all-rounder) going into the World Cup. They are all smart guys, professionals and they understand the team comes first,”
“A lot of things go into deciding the playing XI, the opposition, the conditions, the dimensions of the ground. Yes, sometimes it can be tough for the guys missing out but we are making sure we are giving out a very clear message. Unfortunate but we want to put the team first,”
After a few solid innings, Venkatesh Iyer is likely to be India’s No. 6 in the absence of primary medium-pace all-rounder Hardik Pandya. As the skipper has made it clear that India needs an extra bowling option.
