After the dominating performances against West Indies. The Men in Blue are back in four days for a home assignment against the neighbor Srilanka.

Opener Ishan gets a lifeline while batting on 43 runs
Dasun Shanaka, Srilanka Captain won the toss and was elected to field first. Team India had 6 changes in the playing eleven as compared to the previous outing. Team India was off to a flying start as Ishan and Rohit decided to attack the bowlers in the powerplay and utilize the field to the best. After looking at the behavior of the wicket for the first couple of overs, Ishan finally found his grove. As he punished Karunaratne for three consecutive boundaries in the third over of the game.
After which were was no looking back for Ishan. As he took the aggressive role and scored 58 runs in the powerplay. Just in the next over of the powerplay, Ishan mistimed a shot and a chance was created for Srilanka to strike but Janith Liyanage dropped the catch in the deep.
This incident happened on the fourth ball of the seventh over, where Ishan tried to go for a six over deep mid-wicket, but completely mistimed it as he got beaten in the air and got a thick front edge due to which the ball went high in the air and couldn’t get the distance it needed. Liyanage came running in and did well to get under the ball but couldn’t hold on to it.

Vandersay to Ishan Kishan, 2 runs, chance, and it’s been spilled in the deep, Liyanage was the fielder. did well to get to the ball, did so comfortably and then should have held on – was the wrong ‘un and Kishan was done incomplete, was beaten in the air and got a thick front-edge on the swipe, went high and over mid-wicket
