After facing two back-to-back embarrassing defeats, The Temba Bavuma-led South African team finally managed to achieve a triumph over team India. South Africa showed dominating performance in both the departments, which empowered them to register a mammoth 49-run victory in away conditions.
Despite losing the virtual dead rubber encounter, Rohit Sharma and co. still clinched the series as they were already leading the three-match T20I series by two-nill. The star-studded team will be concerned about their performance in this encounter, however, they will be equally proud of their outings in the remainder of the home series.
“As a team we said at the beginning, no matter what happens with the result – there’s always room for improvement. We want to keep getting better as a team. Teams have been quite challenging, they can challenge in all departments.” said Rohit Sharma to conclude things.
Deepak Chahar was unimpressed with Mohammad Siraj’s effort:
Meanwhile, premier Indian pacer Deepak Chahar is facing some heavy criticism on social media by Indian fans. Chahar was spotted abusing his fellow teammate Mohammad Siraj after missing out on a straightforward catching opportunity at the boundary line. Chahar’s ill-mannered behavior did not impress the fans.
The incident took place in the last over of the game, with David Miller being the batter. Mohammad Siraj, who was fielding at the square-leg region successfully caught the ball but did not manage to show much-needed game awareness in the heat of the moment, visibly stepping on the boundary rope. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma too had an animated reaction to the missed opportunity.
