T20 World Cup 2022: Indian team has kicked off its campaign in the all-important ICC competition on a fitting note. The star-studded team came out victorious in both of their two encounters in the ongoing tournament. The first triumph occurred against arch-rivals Pakistan while the other one came against minnows Netherlands. The team will now head to Perth for their next game.
It has been a dream start for the Rohit Sharma-led team so far in the T20 World Cup and the team is looking confident heading midway into the season. Battle against the fierce side of South Africa is India’s approaching assignment, which is scheduled this Sunday (October 28) at the renowned Perth Stadium which is also known as Optus Stadium.
“Yes, we played a little slow at the start but that was the conversation between me and Virat, we had to wait on that surface to play the big shots. Not too happy with my fifty, but what’s important is getting runs – doesn’t matter if they are good-looking runs or ugly runs. It definitely gives me some extra confidence ahead of the remainder of the tournament,” said Rohit Sharma in the post-match presentation.
Pumped up Adam Gilchrist catches up with Virat Kohli at SCG:
Meanwhile, A video of former Australia veteran Adam Gilchrist catching up with Indian great Virat Kohli is doing rounds on social media. In the exciting visuals, Gilchrist greeted the Indian batter with a crushing handshake at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The former South African pacer Dale Steyn, who is working as a presenter for ICC was part of the conversation as well.
The topic of conversation was certainly Virat Kohli’s prominent innings against Pakistan in India’s opening encounter at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Kohli possibly played the innings of his lifetime, managing to snatch a victory out of Pakistan’s mouth in a high-pressure situation. He single-handedly won the crucial game for the national side.
