T20 World Cup 2022: Jos Buttler-led England’s performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup has been truly commendable. The marquee European side missed the services of some premier team members including Jofra Archer, Jonny Bairstow, and Reece Topley, but still managed to qualify for the semi-finals. England finished on the second position in the Group 1 point tally, with a whopping seven points.
England will now face Team India in the much-anticipated semi-final 2 at the iconic Adelaide Oval Cricket ground. The crucial fixture will occur this Thursday (November 10), formally commencing at 1:30 PM Indian Time. Both prominent sides reached the exact venue yesterday (Monday) and have started gearing up for the big game.

Dawid Malan to miss out on the semi-final 2 against India:
Meanwhile, what comes an extensive development from the England camp ahead of the big game is that Dawid Malan is set to miss the semi-final 2 due to a groin strain. The elite middle-order batter suffered the injury during England’s last game against Sri Lanka while attempting to stop the ball, fielding at the point region.
Dawid Malan is the highest-ranked batter of the national side in the shortest format of the game and his absence is certainly a big setback for the team. The latest reports from English media confirm that young batsman Philip Salt will replace him in the starting eleven, at the same time, veteran batter Ben Stokes is likely to bat at number 3.
“He is obviously a big player. He has been one of our best players. I don’t know but it doesn’t look great, to be honest with you. He had a scan yesterday and we don’t really know a lot but I am not sure it’s looking great,” confirmed England vice-captain Moeen Ali.
“England are the underdogs. India has been playing fantastically over the last year and even if you look at the tournament they have been playing really well. I don’t think we have to be honest, we have been a little behind,” Ali further added in the pre-match press conference.
Not looking great for David Malan ahead of the @T20WorldCup semi-final.
It’s understood he’ll miss the match because of a groin injury & is a doubt for the final should England qualify. #BBCCricket #t20worldcup pic.twitter.com/D26GJ7Clg5
