The star-studded hosts India are locking horns against full-fledged visitors Australia in the first match of the three-match T20I series. The PCA Cricket Stadium of Mohali is assigned to be the venue of the all-important encounter. The series guarantees the viewers with some high-octane cricketing action.
The Indian team posted a huge total of 208 at the loss of 6 wickets after being forced to bat first. KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya were the top contributors with the bat. They played valuable knocks of 55, 46 and 71* respectively. It was a fine effort by the prominent batting line-up against a top quality bowling attack.
The Australian batters were off to a dream start in the mammoth run chase. Stand-in opening batsman Cameron Green starred with an explosive knock of 60 while other top order batsmen failed to get going. Australia are struggling to finish things off but it is certainly not the end of the road with some top quality finishers being present in the side.
Rohit Sharma lashes out at Dinesh Karthik:
In the meantime, Indian captain Rohit Sharma caught limelight during the defense of the total as he was seen openly expressing his frustration at wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik. The incident happened in one of the overs of pacer Umesh Yadav in the mid phase of the innings.
Sharma was apparently not happy with Karthik for not appealing after taking a catch, not just once but on a couple of occasions in the same over. Fortunately, both the decisions went in India’s favor. He addressed Karthik with an animated face as it ended with laughs on everyone’s face.
Sharma and Karthik share a great bond both on the field and off the field. They are considered two be best friends. The viewers certainly enjoyed the comical exchange between the two senior Indian players. The social media users had mixed reactions, many reacted in a hilarious fashion.
