The first test match of the two-match test series between India and Sri Lanka started on March 4 and it was played at Mohali. The match turned out to be a one-sided encounter and ended on Day 3 itself.
The game was a memorable game as it was the former captain Virat Kohli’s 100th game in test cricket. The game will also be remembered for Ravindra Jadeja’s heroics. Jadeja scored 175* in the first innings and took a total of 9 wickets in the match. India won the match by 222 runs and an innings to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
After Big losing the first Match, Another sad news comes out for the visitors’ fans. Sri Lanka’s premier pacer Dushmantha Chameera is set to miss the second match of the series. It is a big blow for Sri Lanka as Lahiru Kumara, the right arm pacer too got injured in the first test match.
Chameera, the right arm pacer is an asset for the visitors. He rested looking at the workload management aspect. The visitors want to keep him fresh for the upcoming T20 World Cup and ODI World Cup as well.
Dushmantha Chameera was looking in the form of his life. He made a big impact in the recently concluded T20I series against India. The right arm pacer has dismissed India’s captain Rohit Sharma on 6 occasions.
