The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League was indeed a super exciting season by all means. The new franchise, Gujarat Titans who were led by Hardik Pandya has the last laugh as they won the title in their inaugural season.
Gujarat Titans defeated Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals in the final in a dominating manner to get their hands on the IPL trophy. Skipper Hardik Pandya played a massive role in Gujarat’s victory as he was named the player of the match.
The Gujarat-based team remained the team to beat throughout the season as they achieved 12 victories in 16 games that they featured in. It was an all-rounder performance by the Pandya-led side in their inaugural season of IPL. The victory was indeed celebrated to the fullest by the undisputed champions.

Meanwhile, The primary spinner of Gujarat Titans showered some praise over the young GT opener, Shubman Gill. The leggie confessed that it would have been difficult to bowl against the right-hand batter. He found himself to be lucky to have Gill play alongside him.
The GT opener had an impressive season in his first year with the franchise as he managed to score 483 in the 16 games that he featured in. Gill averaged 34 in the season. He was named the player of the match in a couple of matches in the season.
“So proud to be here with him. With someone like him, it gives you lots of energy in the game. The way he played throughout the tournament was unbelievable so pleased to have him on our side. He’s the only one I was thinking will be hard for me to bowl to but luckily I have him on my side,” said the leggie.
“We adjusted quickly with the wicket. We know it’s a kind of wicket where chasing 150-plus was going to be hard. Middle overs were very important. We bowled really well as a unit,” he added.
