After a long-long wait, emerging Indian batter Prithvi Shaw finally managed to make it in the Indian lineup last month. Shaw was picked by the five-member BCCI selection committee for the recently-concluded three-match T20I series against visitors New Zealand. The Mumbaikar was in the squad, however, failed to mark his appearance in India’s starting 11 in any of the three games against Mitchell Santner and co.

“It has been a long time that I wasn’t a part of the setup. So, I am happy to be back. When the team was announced, it was pretty late in the night. I saw loads of calls and messages on my phone but I couldn’t realize what happened.” said Prithvi Shaw after the India comeback call

“Then I saw that I had been picked up. These 18 months have been pretty tough on me, but the people who have supported me throughout, the credit goes to them.” Shaw further added while speaking on BCCI’s website

Meanwhile, the full-strength Indian team is currently featuring in an electrifying four-match Test series against Australia, popularly known as the Border Gavaskar Trophy. As things stand, The Rohit Sharma-led Indian side is leading the series by 1-0 following a triumph in the series opener at Nagpur.
